In 1995, Will Hutton wrote The State We’re In: Why Britain Is in Crisis and How to Overcome It, a ground-breaking and highly influential look at what was wrong with Britain and what policies were needed.

The country is now in a far worse state than it was then, and Hutton has just published his new book, This Time No Mistakes: How to Remake Britain. There is a good chance this book will also be very influential as we contemplate a change of government.

Together, the progressive organisations The 99% Organisation, Open Britain and Take Back Britain, have come up with a new initiative: a series of evening events at which our combined membership gets access to some of Britain’s leading progressive thinkers. The first event is already planned: An Evening with Will Hutton, one of the few progressive thinkers to have the ear of the Labour Party. Will will speak for around 30 minutes and then take your questions.
