This event will mark the launch of our new Report on Ending Treasury-Induced Decline. Over the last 40 years, the dominance of the Treasury View has gradually come to determine the strategy for every other department, and thus the government’s entire national strategy. As the Treasury has tightened its grip, the results have declined, and we are now on course for the worst decade since the 1920s. We cannot afford to go on like this.

Our report highlights the issues and sets out a clear proposal for how to make the Prime Minister’s proposed rewiring of the state truly transformative.
