The Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Festival is a very special event for the trade union and labour movement. It is a unique blend of music, comedy, poetry, kids entertainment and, of course, politics.

99% will be taking part in two sessions: one on the NHS and one, titled Five Challenges for the New Government, on the priorities for a new government in relation to our recommended Five Actions:

1. A democratic reset to ensure that governments govern for the entire population, not for the powerful and wealthy;
2. Fact-based policy and debate;
3. Policy for solidarity and abundance;
4. Investing in the future;
5. Cleaning-up capitalism — reengineering the profit  motive into a force for good.
