Why this matters

Every article from 99-percent.org that gets shared on BlueSky reaches new people — and new people become members. We’ve seen it happen. Coordinated bursts of activity are far more effective than isolated posts, and far more sustainable than asking anyone to post every single day. So, periodically, we’ll ask members to post together. This is our BlueSky Blitz — and it works best when as many of us as possible take part.

This week, please post at least one article from 99-percent.org/news to BlueSky.

If it is your first time, it will take you around five minutes as you set up your profile. (If you add FB99% to your profile name, others can follow you, see your post and support it).

If you have posted before, it will take you less than a minute.

How to do it

You don’t need to write anything original. Just pick an article that resonates with you, hit the BlueSky share button, and post. Here’s the whole 2-step process:

Step 1

Go to 99-percent.org/news and browse the articles. Pick a recent one, or use the magnifying-glass at the top right of the screen to search for a topic that you find compelling — there are plenty to choose from.

At the top and bottom of the article page, you’ll see sharing buttons just above or below the article (as there are with this one).

Click the BlueSky button.

Step 2

BlueSky opens with the article title and link already filled in.

You can add a brief comment of your own — or simply post as-is. But either way, remember to tag @99organisation.bsky.social as in the example above so that we can see and boost your post. If you have few followers, only they will see your post. If we repost it, thousands can see it.

Hit Post. Done. You’ve just extended the reach of the 99% movement.
