The book 99%: Mass Impoverishment and How We Can End It will be published in late summer by Head of Zeus. It is available for pre-order from 8th August.
The book describes the process of mass impoverishment which has taken hold in the US and the UK (as well as some other countries) and shows that if it is not checked, by 2050 our current civilisation will have been replaced by a form of plutocracy in which most people will be living in or near to poverty by today’s standards. It tackles the argument that “there is no alternative” and shows that there are no real-world barriers to ending mass impoverishment. Finally, it shows the steps we must take to build an attractive future — a world in which everyone is at least 50% better-off than today.
