In 1942, Sir William Beveridge published a report which set out to tackle what he called the five giants: “Want… Disease, Ignorance, Squalor and Idleness.” His report was both a surprise best-seller and set the vision for the creation of the NHS and the Welfare State.
Sands Film Studios have released a new film, The Man with the Plan, which describes Beveridge’s original vision and how it has been watered down over time.
During the production of the film, many speakers were invited to give their thoughts, one of whom was Mark E Thomas.
The film is now touring the country. They will also be looking for local speakers.
If you would like to be a speaker, please let Shirin know on shirin.eghtesadi@99-percent.org

I would like to encourage our local cinema in Sidmouth, Devon to screen ‘The Man with the Plan. Please advise. Many thanks, Phil Long
A screening at the Corn Exchange, Wallingford, would be fantastic.
I would happily chair an open discussion afterwards.
Nothing in Wales so far! Who do we contact if we have (a) suggested venue(s).
